Onward and with Gratitude
I am writing with the news that after eight incredible years, I am leaving The Industry for my next adventure.
I’m proud of all I’ve accomplished with The Industry team, from creating boundary-breaking work to critically acclaimed recordings to the most meaningful collaborations of my career thus far. I am continually inspired by the act of collective faith and determination – from artist to audience – it took to bring this impossible work into the world.
My new role will be with the contemporary music collective Wild Up as Executive Director. Today we are making a joint announcement as we are all energized for the next phases of both organizations. I feel fortunate to remain here in this vibrant LA music community. I am committed to continuing my work advocating for artists, concepts, and audiences and exploring what music and performance can be and do for communities, and for the identity of a city.
“In her seven years with The Industry, Elizabeth has been an amazing force in bringing the organization where it is today, and she will be sorely missed. We are, however, thrilled that she will be helping to lead another organization with which we have had a long-running and wonderful partnership – Wild Up.
– Ruth Eliel, The Industry’s Board Chair
With our new Artistic Directors’ Cooperative in place, The Industry is at an exciting point in its evolution. We have formed an executive director search committee that includes board members, artistic directors, and a company member, and I am excited to see where we can go from here.”

“Elizabeth has been the best partner an artist can wish for: intentionality and responsiveness to the needs of the work of art being created underpin everything big and small that she undertakes. For a company like The Industry, which never did the same thing twice and always dreamed beyond the scope of conventional opera, she was an essential asset to ensuring our success as an organization, both in performance – with Hopscotch, War of the Worlds, Europeras, and Sweet Land benefiting from her producing insight – and behind-the-scenes.
She oversaw the company’s financial viability, serving as the primary contact to The Industry’s board, managing our record imprint, devising a plan for our Artistic Director Cooperative, and so much more. I am sorry to see my good friend and most trusted partner go, but I am thrilled for her and for wild Up that she will remain an active presence in the LA arts community.”
– Yuval Sharon, Founder & Co-Artistic Director
I hope you are as excited as I am to see what Ash, Yuval, and Malik and the whole The Industry team will create with the new Executive Director for this singular company!
With gratitude for all your support,

Elizabeth Cline
